On the day of our wedding it POURED rain. Solid sideways rain, a total monsoon. At first I was worried that we would have to do all our photos inside and they wouldn't be as beautiful without the natural light, but Melanie is a genius and by combining window light and clever, subtle flash we ended up with gorgeous photos. We also threw another curveball at Melanie when we had my husband's band play a few songs at the reception and they turned off almost all the lights! I didn't realize how dark it would be, and I wasn't sure what the photos would be like, but she nailed that too!
1. Professionalism- Melanie showed up on time to all events, responded promptly to all inquiries, and overall just knew what she was doing in terms of the actual photographing/lighting/etc. to make things go smoothly
3. Friendliness- I cannot tell you how well Melanie made everyone feel at ease throughout the whole process. She was always present taking photos yet wasn't obtrusive to anything that was happening.
Basically no matter what happens on your wedding day, you'll end up with gorgeous photos if you work with Melanie. I'd recommend her to anyone!
I booked Melanie for my April wedding and I'm so happy we did! We love every photo we received (and there were almost 1000 beautiful ones, we could frame any of them and be happy), and we had them so fast, in less than a month. Booking Melanie was so easy, she was always quick to respond and I had full confidence before the event that everything would be perfect. She even gave me a few different package options to fit in our budget.

Stop reading and just book Melanie. You won't regret it. Photography was important to me and I wanted someone who has a great eye for detail and creating beautiful compositions. I felt confident that Melanie was up to the task based on her work I saw online. And I'm happy to report from personal experience that she's got a great eye for light (and I'll always now stick my chin out from now on like a turtle thanks to her). We planned our wedding out of town and only met her via phone before booking her for both our engagement shoot and wedding. I knew after our engagement shoot that we had definitely made the right choice! Melanie has a calming demeanor, is easy to work with, and made us look good! We just received some images from our wedding and they turned out beautifully and we've already received so many positive comments from family and friends.
Overall: professional, pleasant, and EXCELLENT quality work. Would recommend to everyone! If you are teetering on spending a bit more for a photographer, Melanie is DEFINITELY worth it.
2. Day of- We were nervous because we hadn't met with Melanie prior to shooting our wedding & I didn't know if we (bride & groom) would be awkward when taking photos. Melanie made it as all seem so easy/flow nicely. We truly felt like we just got to be 'us' and enjoy the day. Melanie's assistant (Lizzie, I believe) was also great with our junior brides. They were getting a little restless during some photos and the assistant pulled them aside to do their own 'shoot' aka keep them busy- she was extremely helpful, and both of them just seemed to 'get it'.
4. Photos (end result)- we could not be more thrilled with the photo quantity or quality that Melanie provided us. We believe she captured the true essence of our day and got some genuine smiles from everyone
When we started looking for a photographer it was slightly difficult because we are from the Cincinnati area and we were eloping in Nashville! So we had no real recommendations from our friends and family. Someone told me about an app called thumb tack where I could inquire about my needs for a photographer and photographers in the Nashville area would message me! It actually worked out great, I think about 6 photographers contact me. I browsed their sites but Melanie was the first one I had a phone conversation with and I knew I didn't need to speak to anyone else! Let me tell you, Nashville photography cost a heck of a lot more than it does here in my small town in Ohio. She did not disappoint!! We had merely two hours in our gorgeous venue. She was there waiting as I arrived. We had under twenty guests. By the end she was like another guest to us, instead of a photographer. She was so involved and so kind. In two hours she sent me over 350!!!!! GORGEOUS photos. It is so nice to look back and remember our moment in these beautiful photos because it truly went by in the blink of an eye. I know I picked the perfect person to capture our day. We couldn't be happier. Thanks Melanie!!!!
Melanie is amazing! Choosing a wedding photographer was one of the hardest decisions for me. I knew that many decisions throughout the wedding planning process wouldn't really matter after the big day. However, pictures would be something I could look back on forever! I found Melanie's information online and sent an inquiry. She quickly got back to me with information on packages wanted to set up a time to meet. I was trying to plan the wedding from 9 hours away so we ended up having a phone conversation. She seemed super easy and fun to work with and it just so happens that she was free the day of my wedding AND also the one weekend I would be in town for engagement pictures. When I got our engagement pictures back I was blown away by the pictures she took of us in Downtown Nashville - I knew she would do an excellent job with the wedding. I was right, I absolutely loved all our pictures and was surprised by how many she had edited and uploaded to our online album for us to look at. She spent the entire day with me and my bridesmaids taking pictures leading up to our wedding and was right with us throughout the reception. I am so glad we chose Melanie to photograph our wedding and I cannot wait to see our wedding album!
